You know, I think I love you more than I’ve ever loved anyone.
But I want you to know, I don’t need you to make me happy.
I don’t need you to make me feel inspired, or to feel good, or to go places and do extra-ordinary things.
And I don’t mean to sound like I’m nodding it to win it, I’m just saying. I’m in it for the fun of it.
I’m in it for the joy of it.
For the love of it.
For the connection and the new experiences.
For the companionship.
For the friendship.
For the sex.
For the slow dances and romances.
For the rendezvous.
For the new ideas and new breakthroughs.
And, you know, if you should someday decide, it’s time for you to go, I want you to know you can. I won’t stop you.
I won’t hold you down.
I won’t be mad, I won’t be sad.
Not because I don’t care, because I do.
But, I know I don’t need you to feel whole.
I don’t rely on you as my only source of love because I love myself, and she’s always there no matter what.
And guess what?
She loves without conditions.
But humans, they love for a variety of reasons, and sometimes it’s only a season or two.
Sometimes it’s a lifetime, and sometimes it’s just one time.
Either way, love changes you.
And that’s what the human experience is all about, right?
And so, I look forward to the way we will change when we finally come together.
